Education and Opportunities for Children in India

Education creates futures.

About us

The association Sr. Modesta-Hilfe, Indien e.V. was founded in 2014 to support the educational work of St. Catherine's Convent in Shahpur (India). Our team works on a voluntary basis. Your donation goes directly to the local projects.

From Wackersberg to India - the beginning of a life's work.

Sr. Modesta - A life for the mission:
Sr. Modesta (Maria Bartl) from Wackersberg traveled to India in 1938 to help poor people as a nun. In Shahpur, she helped build the convent, the school and the farm. Her legacy lives on to this day.

Our projects

Education as the key to the future

We are currently funding 130 children to attend the monastery school - including school fees, uniforms and learning materials.

Equal opportunities for girls

Helping women to become independent through sewing courses. Women learn to sew and receive a certificate that opens up new opportunities for an independent life.

New project: Promotion of education

In order to enable young women to have a self-determined future, we primarily support girls with up to 75% of the training costs after they have successfully completed school.

    Why support us?

  • Sustainable change through education.
  • 100% of every donation goes to the cause.
